FIELD TRIP TO THE EXHIBITION “THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CITY: ANKARA 1923-1933”

As part of the “Formation of Modern Türkiye” course, one of the Non-Departmental Elective Courses from the Department of Common Courses, instructed by the Deputy Head of the Department, Lecturer Ceren Çilek, our students visited the exhibition titled “The Construction of a New City: Ankara 1923-1933” at Müzegazhane on Sunday, October 12.

Lecturer Dr. Yakup Türkdil, Istanbul Kültür University Department of Turkish Language academician, participated in “Teaching Turkish in Türkiye and in the World: Applications, Developments, Recommendations Workshop,” held in Bursa on September 26-29, 2022, by Ministry of Education Turkish and Language Education Research and Development Center of the Board of Education in cooperation with Turkish Language Association (TDK,) Turkish Maarif Foundation, Yunus Emre Institute, and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB.)  

Novels that Affect the Human Brain in Different Ways According to the World of Science

Interesting studies were conducted at the University of Buffalo in the USA and the University of Liverpool in the UK. In these studies, the works of important literary figures, such as Shakespeare and T. S. Eliot, were read by participants and their brain patterns were monitored at the same time. According to the results, the parts of the brain that we do not normally use in our daily lives are activated when we read a literary text. This means that our brain feeds on texts based on the imagination.
